Official says Cherkizovo, Damate losses from bird flu at 400 mln rbl
MOSCOW, Jun 22 (PRIME) -- The losses from bird flue of Russian poultry producers Cherkizovo and Damate amount to about 400 million rubles, President of the National Association and Agriculture Insurers Kornei Bizhdov said at a seminar on Friday.
“The approximate loss on the two farms is 400 million rubles. This is from the information that I have received from sources in the Agriculture Ministry and so on,” Bizhdov said.
Cherkizovo Group reported 100 million rubles of losses from an outbreak of bird flu at the Vertunovka site in the Bekovsky Region of the Penza Region late on Thursday.
Damate said it had to cull 470,000 turkeys, which is 10% of its livestock in the Penza Region and that the losses amount to about 400 million rubles, or 2% of the cash flow.
